THURSDAY, 4TH MARCH 2021. Every year, World Book Day is celebrated in the UK on the first Thursday in March. It’s a day set aside to encourage reading.
The question, however, is “how can children in Africa be expected to read if they don’t have books?” This is where Book Aid for Africa comes in. Over the past 14 years we have shipped hundreds of thousands of books to different countries in Africa.
Your donation of books and funds makes this possible. As we commemorate World Book Day, we would like to ask for your kind donations to enable us to continue to address the imbalance in the provision of good quality books and other educational resources in Africa.
You can donate to our work. It costs between £500 to £4,500 to ship books to Africa, depending on which part of Africa, and whether it is a land-locked area. Our books are really making a huge difference. For example, the girl that made the best WAEC result in 2020 in Nigeria, Miss Ulan Sylvia Andrew, attended Premiere Academy, which was the first recipient of BAFA shipment in 2009.
We have no doubt that the quality books BAFA supplied to the school contributed in some way to her success. Why not consider making a donation to our work today? Or better still, you can set up a direct debit of any amount to support our work regularly. No amount is too small.
